We are a fairly new organisation representing Solution Focused Therapists in the United Kingdom. (Launch June 2009). We are a sub-division of the SHTC (est. 2007).
To join our practitioner listing you must: 1. Be registered with a professional body (accredited or practitioner level) with a code of conduct and ethics 2. Hold appropriate insurance cover for your practice at a minimum level of £1million. Note to enquiries. Applicants have declared their qualification and insurance levels. YOU MUST VERIFY PRACTITIONER STATUS AND INSURANCE COVER. 3. Where appropriate members should adhere to NOS National Occupational Standards and hold qualifications from QCA / QCA approved awarding bodies. We recognise these do not apply to all models of therapy.
Membership is FREE and includes a listing on our website, a link to your website and the right to use "Reg SFT" appropriately on publicity material. By appropriately we mean you may use the letters as long as you do not misrepresent yourself, your service, your qualifications or our organisation. We also encourage members to join our professional discussion group and mutually support each other in professional practice.
All the members of this group must declare membership to a professional body and attest to the fact that they hold professional insurance. When contacting a therapist however all potential clients should check that these details are up to date and correct. All therapists should be registered with a professional body with a code of conduct and ethics, and carry professional practice insurance at a level of at least £1million. Professional therapists will normally be more than happy to confirm these details with you. Although we ask members to declare details of registration and insurance it is strictly up to the client to verify these and by contacting any therapist listed via our pages confirms acceptance of this fact and duty.
